Founded in 1959 and headquartered in Ada, Michigan, Amway is one of the world’s leading direct selling businesses. The company offers high-quality health, beauty, and home care products available exclusively through independent business owners (IBOs). In 2015 Amway’s global sales reached an astounding $9.5 billion.
Amway Canada is the first of the corporation’s international affiliates and was established in 1962. During a recent renovation to modernize the office space of the Canadian headquarters, privacy became an issue for their interiors. As such, Window Film Systems (WFS) became an active partner with Amway Canada to provide functional custom film solutions to increase privacy.
The Canadian office was seeking a comfortable level of interior privacy. After an initial site visit a standard decorative frosted film, Lintec’s Mist – MST 5001, was applied to the top of cubicle partitions to lessen visibility. To tackle the issue of open interior office glass, WFS created and installed a custom design that was printed to Lintec’s Optically Clear Printable film.
These solutions achieved the desired effect, allowing employees to work comfortably while also establishing a soft style in line with the natural flow of the office.
In subsequent portions of the renovation project, collaboration shifted to the development of a creative wall art installation with a unique purpose. The Canadian affiliate of an American company wanted to create a “Canadian pride-piece” for the large boardroom wall.
Collaborative briefs began with WFS’ resident graphic designer Gabe Griffiths Prov. RGD, which resulted in the development of a Canadian collage highlighting the wide breadth of national pride. An open relationship fostered strong dialogue from both sides in a personable process to develop the perfect custom film solution.
The piece was printed on Presto’s CanvasTac repositionable adhesive wall media and a three-dimensional aspect was added to make the design pop.
Anyone walking by this boardroom would be hard-pressed not to take note of the beautiful display. It undoubtedly also serves as a conversation piece for visitors as the detailed designs, national representation, and creative presentation cohesively bind together for a truly artistic Canadian experience, eh.
