What is security glazing?

A:

Glazing is the industry term for glass openings. If a specification (which is the document created by an architect to ensure every item in the building meet a pre-described criteria) is written to have security glazing it means that the opening has to meet a pre-determined safety rating. These standards are third party standards and testings are found in Canadian building codes.

What are impact-resistant window films?

A:

Impact-resistant window film is designed to protect glass windows by absorbing the impact of traditional glass hazards such as stones kicked up from passing traffic, as well as smash-and-grab attempts. Impact-resistant security film is designed to contain harmful glass shards in the event of sever impacts, while deterring smaller, less destructive glass impacts.

What are anti-graffiti window films? How do they work?

A:

Anti-graffiti window film is an optically clear film that is applied to glass surfaces, mirrors, and windows in public settings or businesses. This window film application is virtually invisible and will not alter the appearance of the glass or mirror. If a surface has been vandalized, the window film becomes a sacrificial layer that can easily be removed, leaving the glass or mirror surface behind intact and a new anti-graffiti film can be applied in its place.
